Five courses, from first licence to refresher

Small groups, working practitioners as instructors, and enough scenario work that the skills survive contact with a real incident. Courses run at our training venue or at your premises for groups.

Introduction to SIA Training

The starting point for anyone entering the private security industry. Covers the roles and responsibilities of a security operative, the legislation you work under, communication and customer care, and the behaviours that keep you and the public safe.

Conflict Management and Resolution

Managing aggression is the part of the job that shows up on the news. This course covers recognising the build-up, de-escalating with language and positioning, and knowing when to withdraw rather than engage.

Physical Intervention Skills

Practical training in low-level physical skills for situations where disengagement has failed. Taught with an emphasis on lawful, proportionate and reasonable force, and on getting out of the situation rather than winning it.

CCTV Operations and Surveillance

For public space surveillance operators and site-based monitoring. Covers operating a control room, the codes of practice you work to, evidence handling, and the data protection rules that make or break a prosecution.

First Aid

Emergency first aid for security operatives, aimed at the incidents you are actually likely to meet on a door, a gate or a site: collapse, bleeding, choking, head injuries and the effects of alcohol and drugs.

  • Primary survey and casualty assessment
  • CPR and use of a defibrillator
  • Catastrophic bleeding and wound care
  • Recording and handing over to the ambulance service

You receive joining instructions, the venue details and what to bring. Courses run in small groups so the practical elements are useful.

STEP 04

Get qualified

On successful completion you receive your certification and, where relevant, guidance on applying for your SIA licence.
